About this site

We are on your side. That is our only job.

CaregiverBenefits.org is a free information website for family caregivers across the United States. No sales. No spam. Just real help.

“We put real information in plain English so caregivers can find the money, programs, and help they deserve — without spending hours lost in government websites.”

Why we built this site

Family caregivers do one of the hardest jobs in America. Most of them do it for free. They give up their time, their money, and their health to take care of a parent, a spouse, or a child who needs help.

At the same time, billions of dollars in benefits and programs go unclaimed every year. People do not know these programs exist. Or they heard about them but could not figure out how to apply. Or they spent hours on government websites and gave up.

We built CaregiverBenefits.org to fix that. Every guide on this site is written in plain English. Every step is spelled out. Every phone number is real and up to date.

What we cover

We cover every major topic a family caregiver needs to know about:

  • How to get paid to care for a family member (Medicaid, VA, state programs)
  • What Medicare and Medicaid actually cover — and what they do not
  • Legal tools like Power of Attorney, advance directives, and guardianship
  • Tax breaks and financial help caregivers often miss
  • Your rights when a hospital says it is time to leave
  • Caregiver burnout, mental health, and how to get support
  • State-by-state program guides for all 50 states
  • Free tools, checklists, and phone scripts you can use today

Who we are

We are a small team of writers, researchers, and caregivers who believe that finding help should not require a law degree. Our writers work with licensed professionals to make sure everything we publish is accurate, current, and written in language that anyone can understand.

All content on this site is reviewed by at least one qualified expert before it is published, and we update it any time laws or programs change.
