📢 The short version: This site may display ads through Google AdSense and may earn commissions from affiliate links. Advertisers never influence what we write. We do not accept payment to recommend any product, service, or government program. Our content is based entirely on research from official sources.
We are not a government agency. We do not distribute benefits, grants, or government funds. We are an independent information website.
How This Site Is Funded
CaregiverBenefits.org is a free resource for family caregivers. Running and maintaining this site costs money — hosting, research time, writing, and technical development. To cover those costs, this site uses two types of commercial relationships:
1. Display advertising (Google AdSense)
This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. These are standard display ads — banners, text ads, or responsive ads — placed automatically by Google based on your browsing behavior and the content of the page. We do not control which specific ads appear. We receive a small payment when visitors view or interact with these ads.
Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to show you ads based on your interests. You can learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads.
2. Affiliate links
Some articles on this site may contain affiliate links — links to products or services where we earn a small commission if you purchase through our link, at no extra cost to you. When an affiliate link is present, we disclose it clearly in that article.
We only include affiliate links for products or services we believe are genuinely useful for caregivers. We do not accept payment to include or exclude any link, and affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial recommendations.
This site participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and may participate in other affiliate programs. Where required by law or platform policy, affiliate links are marked with a disclosure in the article.
What Advertising Does NOT Affect
Our editorial content — the guides, articles, tools, and checklists on this site — is written independently of our advertising and affiliate relationships. Specifically:
- Advertisers do not review, approve, or influence our articles before or after publication
- We do not write positive coverage in exchange for payment
- We do not rank or recommend products, services, or programs based on who pays us
- We do not accept sponsored content that is presented as independent editorial content
- No government program, benefits company, or healthcare service has paid us to mention them
- Affiliate commission potential does not change which products or services we mention or how we describe them
If we ever publish a sponsored article or paid partnership, it will be labeled clearly as “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership” and separated visually from our editorial content.
Government Programs and Benefits
This site discusses government programs including Medicaid, Medicare, VA benefits, and Social Security. We want to be completely clear about our relationship to these programs:
- We are not affiliated with any government agency at the federal, state, or local level
- We are not affiliated with Medicare, Medicaid, the VA, Social Security Administration, or any state Medicaid program
- We do not approve, administer, or distribute any benefits, grants, or government funds
- We do not charge any fee to access information about government programs
- We do not collect personal information to “match” you with benefit programs
- No government agency has paid us to discuss their programs
All information about government programs on this site comes from official government sources. We describe how programs work — the agencies themselves determine who qualifies.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure is made in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255) and their guidance on affiliate marketing disclosures. The FTC requires that material connections between publishers and advertisers or affiliate partners be clearly disclosed to readers.
We believe in full transparency. If you ever have a question about whether a specific piece of content on this site has a commercial relationship behind it, email us and we will tell you.
Corrections and Questions
If you believe any content on this site misrepresents a commercial relationship, or if you have questions about our advertising practices, please contact us. We take these concerns seriously and respond to every inquiry.
